The CT-6 is a pole-style traction splint used on mid-shaft femur fractures. It is very similar to the KTD used in Skagit County EMS courses. The splint is carried on 11-17 and 11-24 and can be found in a small black bag which may be inside the large orange air splint bags on each rig.
Contraindications
Don't apply the splint in these situations:
- Pelvic fracture or instability
- Knee, ankle, or foot fractures
- Fracture of the femur near either end of the femur(for example a broken 'hip')
