In 2025, MEFD has added the Zoll AED 3 to its first due apparatus. The [[Zoll AED Pro]] is still in use on some apparatus and at each station.<br />

The Zoll AED 3 uses the same pads as the Pro model, but has different batteries, interface, etc.<br />

During regular maintenance confirm that the self-check indicator shows a green check mark. If a red x is shown the unit needs to be removed from service until it can be repaired.<br />

Chief Noyes tracks AED pad expiration dates and they should not be checked.<br />
