&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Ground ladders must have their halyards secured prior to climbing.  The halyard should be tied with a clove hitch around a rung followed by an overhand safety knot around the vertical section of halyard.  You must be able to tie the knots with your structure gloves on.&lt;br /&gt;

Be aware that some ladders have free halyards and others have secured halyards. The tying techniques are different.&lt;br /&gt;
